Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey
Established in 1977, the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ) is part of the National Women’s Political Caucus that was created in 1971. The organization is “dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process, increasing the number of women in elected and appointed office, protecting reproductive freedom, and creating a women’s political power base to achieve equality for ALL women.” WPCNJ advocates for support on women’s issues and sponsors Democratic and Republican task forces. Each year, the WPCNJ lists all female candidates running for elected office across the state and makes recommendations to the National Women’s Political Caucus for select candidates. WPCNJ also holds an awards ceremony each year to recognize the accomplishments of men and women who work the organization. The organization is very active and supports women running for elected office who maintain its mission for women’s progress.
